The Zoo

Today I took baby Z to the zoo with grandma allen and grandma and grandpa penny. It was a great time. She started out super excited and looking at everyone. We started at the children's zoo. While we waited for tickets in the shade she looked at all the trees and little kids that were nearby with lots of cute smiles. Then we went into the main area with guinea pigs, the fennec fox etc. A few minutes after we entered the room she wasn't really interested in anything. She was more interested in teh guy working with the guinea pigs than the actual guinea pigs, she gave a little giggle to the foxs and then...unhappy baby ready to eat. (she decided to only take 3 ozs that morning so she was a hungry baby) The bathrooms at the zoo are so small well for two grandmas, one mom an upset baby and a stroller plus all the extra people in there. We got her changed and went out to sit and continue feeding her. We decided what better way than to sit and watch the zoo acres program. Shortly after eating a few ounces she was out. Then the show began and of course being an interactive show the kids were asked to scream words at certain points at first she was out nothing could rouse her than a particularly loud "NO" woke her up. She was doing good though just watching the kids. She was particularly watching a young lady next to us maybe a little older than herself and when her daddy put her in the stroller so she couldn't see her anymore...that was it she got upset and we left. From what I saw it was a cute little show though.

Then we were off to the Rivers Edge. She was showing signs of tired...

A little while into the Rivers Edge she was out and we lost her company for the bears, monkeys and she woke up at the tigers. (there was quite a large amount of animals getting their cages cleaned) Anywho, once she woke up Grandpa Penny and I were on our way to wait for the grandmas who were riding the train to meet us. She sat up for a while enjoying the scenery and watching the people then it was time for a diaper change and food. The bathroom in the bird house...really small for all the mommies with their strollers. It was the first time (and I am sure not the last) where I had to stand in line for the baby changing station. I rarely seen those things used before I had a kid and now I am waiting in line...what?!! Anywho, she started getting upset again of course she was hungry. I went out leaning over her stroller with bottle in hand and grandpa Penny offered to hold her and feed her and that worked for me and the back so we were off to meet the grandmas at the carousel...She  thought that was so interesting and we were excited for the photo op...

at first we were on together but then they said only one person on an animal

and we waited....then the dreaded words came over the loudspeaker..."Due to technical difficulties we need everyone to get off the carousel...Here is our they are making us leave wave she is very uninterested...

Anyway, the Penny's had to leave and we thought about sticking around for the ride to reopen but we weren't sure how long that would be and we were very tired. So our day at the zoo ended. By the time we got to the car me and my mom were beat and she was sleeping. It took us a while to get from the art museum parking lot to the end of government drive and of course the car got cool when we hit the highway and so little girl woke up and decided it was time to eat. She cried very angrily until we got off 70 in Cville and pulled into the McDonalds parking lot to make her a bottle. We got to grandmas and grandpa Allen was off early for the holiday. After she ate she was as happy as can be.

Then she went home spent some time with daddy before he went to sleep and then sat in her swing with her elephant

It was a great day!! And now I really just want to do nothing for a few days :)
