5*29*09

I did not get to see Z very much today. After work we had a happy hour for one of our employees who is leaving the company. TQ$ was the best at what he did and it will take a while to get someone to replace him but I am glad he is getting a better opportunity. It was nice getting to go out and just sit for a while. I am not upset in the least about being so busy with the little one all the time but it really makes me appreciate the times I do get to go out and be with friends.  So by the time I get home it is 8pm. Doug is beat and looking a little grumpy from having to stay up 2 hours later than usual. So he goes to bed and I change her and head to my moms because my sis is in town this week and she just got in. So of course I had to show off the little bean. She was in this super cute dress today that I need to get a picture of it is super adorable (thank you Jeremy and Erica!) I was a little worried because her bed time is 830 and we were there until 9:30pm. She did so good though and barely got fussy at all. When she started getting a little grumpy it was time to leave and on the route home she fell asleep and is now sleeping peacefully in her crib. I bumped her awake a little bit when I was putting her down she just gave the cutest smile and went right back to sleep. I am so lucky!

This next week should bring lots of cute pictures!!

Some Zoo Photos from Grandpa Allen

Pics 5.28.09

Today was a pretty quiet one for me and Baby Z. I think we were just both more in a reflexive rather than playful mood. Although she did spend a good amount of time running my fingers along her gums so that could have been part of her reasoning. I gave her a bath this morning and she reacted as she usually does just doing a little splashing in the water and watching me explain bath time. Here are some pics we took today. The first one is my favorite...it made me giggle when I uploaded it.

Rolling Over

The poor girl is trying so hard to roll over. She gets most of the movement she just can't get the momentum. She will get it soon I am sure that seems to be the one and only thing on her mind currently.

She was a bit fussy tonight and I think that was part of it. She fell asleep about 730 after about a half hour trying to roll. I went to put her down and her eyes popped open and she was pretty awake. I put her in her crib so that I could do something real fast. I put her seahorse next to her and turned it on (its tummy glows and plays lullabies) well she just looked at it with such a loving face and by the time I got back she was out. She woke up a little when I moved her into her blanket but as soon as I turned seahorsey back on she was out.

2 months and 3 weeks

I can't believe how the time has flown by. It seems just yesterday I found out I was pregnant. It continues to amaze me how much she changes every day. When we brought her home from the hospital, she would eat, cry, sleep, look cute. Now, she babbles the cutest things, plays on her play gym and just seems so alert and ready to go all the time. When she babbles you wonder if she is conveying a message or just imitating what you have done to her either way it is sooooo cute!

She currently sleeps at least 8 hours a night. When 8:30pm rolls around boom she is out. I thought it would be different if we happened to be away from home but we were at my parents the other day and at 8:15 my dad said oh she wont be asleep by 8:30 and promptly (I swear) at 8:30 she was asleep. She did wake up at 9 when I left my moms but she was only up for a little while when we got home.

She is perfecting her your not listening to me scream. She has her "maaaaaaah"whimpers for I am hungry or tired or teething(yeech already) and her screams for I am gassy, reallllllllly hungry or just tired of looking at you and want to be moved around. Just kidding that is usually more of a grumpy shout than a scream. :)

I have been extremely lucky! Although my mom told me none of us kids were as difficult as people make children seem so maybe I am just listening too much to that crowd mentality that is 99% bulls@##. Either way she is such a good little girl and I worry about her every moment.

Going back to work was not as hard as I thought until recently when she is changing so quickly. Somedays I would rather stay home and watch her grow because I know she is only this small for a matter of time. I am glad she is in good and capable hands with her grandparents so things are not too horrible except for that one moment. The one where I hand her over and have to say "See you later, little one" and she looks at me with those cute eyes and I just melt and want to forget it all.
