18 month stats

Z had her 18 month checkup on the 16th of Sept. Here are her stats
Height: 31 3/4inches
Weight: 23 lbs 2 oz
Head: 18.25 inches

She had her last shot until kindergarten I think so that is wonderful!!! The doctor said she looks great and was impressed that she can put simple sentences together. I did not tell her she could Z said something (I wish I could remember what) and she said "she is already forming sentences...well that is ahead of the curve". Beyond that everything else was exactly on the same curve she has always been on from height to head circumference :)

A few super cute pics from today

Sink Time

I did not know that other kids loved the sink until I saw another post about playing in the sink. On a sad mommy note, the last time we did this Z ended up turning on the hot water without mommy (who was making cinnamon rolls right next to her) noticing until the cries started. Safe to say I had my eyes glued to her for this one.

Eckerts

Here is some pictures of Zatanna picking apples at Eckerts in Belleville,IL . She was so good. I was especially proud because she would only take a thirty minute nap before we went.

All the new things

Z is 17 months as of the 4th of August. She can say a ton of stuff and communicates very well. "Again" is her new favorite word.  I made a funny face at her in the bathtub that included crossing my eyes...let's just say that after the tenth "again" this gets a little difficult.
She has been getting significantly grumpier every time she does not get her way. I used to think maybe we would just fly through the terrible twos and threes because she was such a sweetheart all the time. However, now you can tell the cat "no" and she will slam herself on the floor and start to cry...talk about a new world.
I am starting to worry that she may have feet like her mom. When I was growing up I had arches that were too high so I could never find shoes that fit and ended up wearing boys shoes for some of my growing up years but now they have wide width so hopefully that will work. I can shove her feet into a size 5 but she cries and the size 6 shoes that Doug parents bought for her tonight are huge on her so I think she may never wear anything except flip flops. :)
She eats anything with noodles but very little meat. She loves couscous and runs around saying "coo coos" while you are cooking it. Luckily, she also likes fruits and veggies (I have never seen a little kid just eat lettuce with nothing else surrounding it) She will demand silverware now and is very good at the spoon. The fork she can use but she usually stabs it, brings it up to her mouth and then just removes it with her fingers.
She starts Little Gym again this Sat. I am really excited I missed it. We have so much fun there.
Anyway, that is my condensed post for everything that has been happening.

OK so it has been a while...here is Z helping me with the laundry

15 month checkup

Zatanna had her 15 month checkup today. Here are the stats
Height 30 1/2
Weight 21 lbs 13 oz
Head 18 inches

She was given two shots she had already had before so no worries. We were told there is only one more at 18 months and then we are done until kindergarten!!! Hallelujah! At least this time she was only upset for a minute and then was her usually happy self. She came home and ate some pringles and was ready for a nap.
The doctor says she looks great and hopefully we will not see her again until Sept.

Crayons

Zatanna has discovered crayons. She loves to carry them around telling you what color they are or what she generalizes them as and then marks on the paper. The game has become that she starts to put them in her mouth and when I say "no you know we put them away if you eat them" she proceeds to place them on her cheek, nose and finally her mouth with a huge grin on her face and a twinkle in her eye trying to squeak it past me. She does not appreciate when I actually put them away. I will try and scan a crayon creation soon :)

Words Z can say...

mommy
dada
clothes
pants
shirt
car
green
purple ( we fought over what color a green crayon was...she said purple and we went back and forth for a few minutes green...purple....green...purple)
blue
all done
up (usually proceeded by a growl)
ball
hi
buh bye
kick
power (she is trying to say power puff girls)
puff
milk
elmo
she tries to sing the alphabet but it is like a b c da and then random sounds to the alphabet music
oh and la la la la when she hits that part of the elmo's world song
and she can tell you what animals say
There may be more but this is what I can think of at the moment.
